The Oyo State Coordinator of the JDS Political Dynasty, Mogaji Sunday Paul Igbinsola, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, led members of the group on a courtesy visit to the Oyo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
Speaking to newsmen after the visit, Igbinsola said the
delegation was at the residence of the senator, specifically to reaffirm its commitment and full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.
According to him, the movement, founded by Chief Dr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Okanlomo Odua, and Gbonka Olubadan, has been supporting the Tinubu administration since 2023 and remains committed to the President’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Igbinsola disclosed that the group was planning a town hall meeting in Ibadan within the next two weeks to mobilise grassroots support for President Tinubu and further demonstrate its commitment to his 2027 re-election campaign.
Also, he announced an impending programme by Tinubu Touch Bearer, scheduled for Monday, August 31, where the support group will host the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at Ilaji Hotel and Resort.
He said the visit to Senator Alli was also aimed at informing him about the planned activities and seeking his moral and financial support for the anniversary programme.
However, when asked whether the movement’s visit to Senator Alli could create a conflict, considering that his political party, Accord has gotten a governorship contender in Oyo State, Igbinsola dismissed the concern, saying there’s no mix up.
He said, “Accord is a party and JDS is a movement. I am speaking on behalf of JDS Political Dynasty. We have many contemporaries contesting and we have been evaluating them. When is the time to go to the poll, we as a movement will recommend the best governor that is good for Oyo state.
He added the movement would assess the candidates based on their antecedents, track records, capabilities and what they could offer the people of Oyo State.
According to him, the JDS Political Dynasty would then recommend what it considers the best candidate for the state ahead of the governorship election.
He added that the immediate priority of the group was to sustain its mobilisation for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and support initiatives aimed at advancing the Renewed Hope agenda.
