In what has been widely described as a perfect blend of sacred devotion, family legacy, and institutional pride, the holy matrimony between Miracle and Bernard stood out not only as a celebration of love but also as a moment of honour for the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community.

The solemn ceremony, held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Jude’s Catholic Parish, Naze, drew a distinguished congregation, reflecting both the social and institutional significance of the union. Officiated by revered Catholic priests, Rev. Fr. Venatius Anayo Umennebuaku (CMF), Rev. Fr. Frank Ogbonna, and Rev. Fr. Francis Ikpamezie the ceremony was rich in spiritual depth, with homilies centered on enduring love, responsibility, and faith as the bedrock of marriage.

What further elevated the occasion was the strong institutional connection of the groom’s family to Federal Polytechnic Nekede. The mother of the groom, Mrs Adanne Chinyere Ojiuko (LSM) a respected figure within the Polytechnic, currently serves as the Bursar of the institution, while the father, *Chief (Dr.) A. A . Ojiuko (KSM), a seasoned academic, is a retired Chief Lecturer who dedicated years of meritorious service to the same institution. Their lifelong commitment to education and service was reflected in the calibre of guests and goodwill that surrounded the event.
In an emotional moment during the reception, the mother of the groom expressed profound gratitude to God and appreciation to the Polytechnic community for the love and support shown to her family. She described the day as “a fulfilment of prayers and a testimony of God’s faithfulness,” while encouraging the couple to build their home on integrity, mutual respect, and faith.

The father of the groom, speaking with the wisdom of experience, noted that marriage is “a lifelong institution that requires patience, sacrifice, and understanding,” urging the couple to remain steadfast and supportive of one another through all seasons of life.
On her part, the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, who attended alongside Principal Officers, Governing Council members, Directors, Deans, Heads of Departments, staff, and students, commended the families for raising children of character and dignity. She described the wedding as “a proud moment for the Polytechnic,” highlighting the institution’s strong sense of unity that extends beyond official duties into shared celebrations of life.
According to the Rector, such gatherings “reinforce the Polytechnic’s identity as not just a centre of academic excellence, but a community bound by shared values, mutual respect, and collective joy.” She further noted that the dignified and well coordinated nature of the ceremony reflects positively on the institution’s image, projecting it as a place where professionalism coexists with strong human relationships.
The grand reception at Today’s Woman Event Centre, Naze, was a fitting continuation of the day’s elegance, featuring cultural splendour, refined hospitality, and joyful interactions among guests from diverse backgrounds.

Beyond the beauty of the occasion, the wedding of Miracle and Bernard has come to symbolize something deeper, the intersection of family heritage, institutional legacy, and the enduring power of love. It showcased Federal Polytechnic Nekede not only as an academic institution but as a vibrant community where bonds are nurtured, values are upheld, and milestones are collectively celebrated.
Indeed, this remarkable union has further projected the institution in a positive light, strengthening its image as a socially cohesive, culturally grounded, and people-oriented citadel of learning.
A celebration of love, a reflection of legacy, and a proud moment for the Polytechnic community.
