The Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has promised to provide solar-powered street lights and a borehole for the Wakajaye-Iyana Church community in Ibadan within the next few weeks.

Alli made the pledge after attending the Jumat service at the Shafaudeen In Islam International Mosque, Wakajaye, Ibadan, where the Grand Imam and Founder of Shafaudeen In Islam, Alhaji Sabit Olagoke, charged political leaders and public office holders to govern with the fear of God, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to the people.

The APC governorship candidate, while reaffirming his commitment to transparent and dedicated service, said the welfare of the people would remain a major priority of his administration if elected Governor of Oyo State in next year’s general election. He also pledged to pursue policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across the state.

Earlier in his sermon, Alhaji Olagoke emphasised the need for accountability, justice and selfless leadership, reminding those entrusted with public responsibilities that they would ultimately give account of their actions before Allah and the people.

The cleric described Senator Alli as “humility personified” and urged him to continue to use his position to contribute positively to the welfare and development of the people.

He also called on citizens to support leaders who demonstrate honesty, compassion and genuine commitment to the development of society, while praying for peace, unity and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria.
