Mogaji Agboobeere, Chief Tahiru Kolawole Oladipupo has congratulated the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State on the historic ascension of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing his emergence as a rare blessing and a turning point for the ancient city.
In an interview with journalists in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, Mogaji Agbobeere eulogized the new monarch, noting that Ibadanland is fortunate to have a former governor, senator, seasoned politician, and democratic leader as its traditional ruler.
He described Oba Ladoja as an industrious and compassionate leader, a good listener, and a man whose wealth of experience is expected to transform the fortune of Ibadanland.
Reflecting on the monarch’s journey, he said, “We thank God for the life of the new Olubadan who, despite the many challenges he has faced, has been divinely preserved to ascend the throne of his forefathers at this destined period.”
Chief Oladipupo however, urged the new Olubadan to prioritize security, youth development, and orientation as he begins his reign. According to him, these areas are critical to restoring values, improving productivity, and safeguarding the peace of Ibadanland.
He further suggested that the monarch should work towards reviving moribund companies within the city to create employment opportunities for the teeming youth, while also considering the rehabilitation of dilapidated compounds and old buildings to serve as recreational and vocational centres.
Mogaji Agbobeere lauded Oba Ladoja’s democratic disposition and his readiness to listen to the concerns and suggestions of his people, assuring that such qualities will aid him in finding solutions to the challenges of Ibadanland.
He expressed confidence that the new Olubadan’s reign would usher in development, peace, and the restoration of Ibadan’s pride of place in Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
He prayed for long life, sound health, and wisdom for Oba Ladoja to successfully steer the affairs of Ibadanland.
