Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District and Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Affairs, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede (JMK) at his Osogbo residence, Osun State capital.
The late-night meeting, which held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, came on the heels of Senator Fadahunsi’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He arrived around 10:30 p.m. and was warmly received by Otunba Ogunkeyede, with discussions extending close to midnight.
During the visit, both leaders reflected on past political differences in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, particularly in Ward 4, and resolved to put aside disagreements in the interest of unity and progress.
Otunba Ogunkeyede formally welcomed the senator into the APC fold and charged him to demonstrate genuine commitment to the ongoing voter registration exercise in Osun East.
In his response, Senator Fadahunsi pledged to fully support the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, describing voter registration as the backbone of democratic participation and a decisive factor for APC’s future electoral victories.
The lawmaker was accompanied by Hon. Otunba Ajibola from Ward 4, Obokun Local Government, who had earlier joined the ruling party.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with Senator Fadahunsi affirming his readiness to work hand in hand with Otunba Ogunkeyede to strengthen APC structures in the constituency.
He also restated his strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and promised to mobilise massively for the president’s second term bid as well as forthcoming state and national elections.
