Secondus Alleges Wike’s Role in Rivers State Political Turmoil

Uche Secondus, the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has accused Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, of orchestrating the current political tensions in Rivers State.

Secondus also demanded accountability from Wike regarding funds he allegedly received from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) during his tenure as Rivers State governor.

In a statement relayed by his spokesperson, Ike Abonyi, Secondus cited Wike’s ongoing feud with Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a catalyst for the state’s heightened political climate.

Secondus accused Wike of attempting to undermine Governor Fubara’s administration due to his inability to access state revenues.

Furthermore, Secondus alleged that Wike has instructed his associates to malign Governor Fubara and other state leaders in the media, hindering peace and progress.

He criticized Wike’s media attacks as unwarranted and diversionary.

Secondus therefore urged President Bola Tinubu to caution Wike against exacerbating the political situation in Rivers State and to allow Governor Fubara the freedom to govern in the interest of the electorate who elected him.
