Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo State, says he had no political ties with his successor in office, Emeka Ihedioha.
Okorocha governed Imo state between 2011 and 2019. His attempt to install his inlaw, Uche Nwosu as governor failed as Ihedioha, the then Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in 2019 election emerged victorious.
Ihedioha was to later removed by the Supreme Court, which pronounced the current governor, Hope Nzodinma, the winner of the election, where he came distant fourth.
Okorocha stated this during an interaction with journalists at his Spilbat mansion in Owerri, the state capital, on Saturday, adding thatp who were exaggerating his recent visit to Ihedioha’s home in Mbaise were doing it incorrectly.
Okorocha said “I have no political romance with Ihedioha. I don’t have one and I don’t intend to have any. I visited Ihedioha’s house because of the death of his Mother. I know what it means to lose a mother and it was incumbent on me to identify with him at the moment of his grief. It is biblical. There is nothing special about it.”
