JDS Coordinator: No Agreement To Back Hamzat’s Governorship Bid

The Oyo State Coordinator of the Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Political Dynasty, Mogaji Igbinsola Sunday Paul, has refuted claims that Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan, Engr. Chief Dotun Sanusi, initially supported the governorship ambition of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat.

Mogaji Igbinsola, while reacting to the claim, said there was never a time when Chief Sanusi entered into any arrangement or agreement with Hamzat for the JDS structure in Oyo State to support his governorship ambition.

According to him, Hamzat’s visits to Ilaji Resorts and Hotel, owned by Chief Sanusi, should not be misconstrued as evidence of political endorsement or an agreement to back his political aspiration.

He explained that, like several other individuals who visit the renowned Ibadan-based hospitality and recreational facility to pay homage and interact with Chief Sanusi, Hamzat was also a frequent visitor, stressing that such visits did not translate into an agreement for political support.

“There was no time when such an arrangement took place. There was never an agreement that the JDS structure in Oyo State would support Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat’s governorship ambition,” Mogaji Igbinsola said.

He therefore urged the public to distinguish between social visits, personal interactions and formal political commitments, insisting that the fact that an individual visited Ilaji Resorts or maintained a relationship with Chief Sanusi could not, by itself, be interpreted as an endorsement of his political ambition.

Mogaji Igbinsola said it was important to put the record straight in view of what he described as attempts to create an impression that an agreement existed between Chief Sanusi, JDS and Hamzat over his governorship aspiration.

He maintained that no such commitment was made on behalf of the JDS structure in Oyo State.
