In a historic gathering on May 13 at Watershed, Ibadan, Accord Party formally declared its intention for the upcoming Oyo South senatorial elections, drawing massive support from party members, stakeholders, and local dignitaries.
The event, described as a milestone in the political history of Oyo South Senatorial District, was organized by the Accord planning committee under the leadership of Mogaji Igbinsola Sunday Paul, the Southwest Zonal Leader. Mogaji Igbinsola expressed gratitude to attendees from all nine local governments, highlighting their commitment to the growth and unity of Accord in the state.
Rev. Oludare Owolabi Amos, the host and senatorial aspirant, promised effective representation in the upper chamber if elected, emphasizing his vision for stronger collaboration and development across the district.
The gathering was attended by prominent political figures including Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat Okikiola, Accord’s gubernatorial aspirant, and other constituency aspirants, signaling a unified front ahead of the general elections.
Other notable aspirants in attendance were Hon. (Surveyor) Olujide Fasoyin MNIS (Ibadan North Constituency 1); Hon. Ibitoye Saheed (Ibadan South West Constituency 2); Dr. Franklin Folashade (Ido Local Government); and Hon. Hamod Adewale (Ibadan North East Constituency 2); Hon. Obisesan Olamide (Ibadan North East Constituency 1 Aspirant).
“This moment marks the beginning of greater unity and overwhelming victory for Accord in Oyo State,” Mogaji Igbinsola said. “Together we move forward. Together we succeed.”
Accord leaders hope the momentum generated by this historic event will translate into strong electoral performance across Oyo South and the state at large.
