A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has stated that the opposition’s campaign of calumny against the party and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, will not prevent the party from securing victory in the August 15 election.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye said series of accusations leveled against the APC and its candidate stem from the opposition’s fear of defeat.

He described as unfortunate what he called ‘the opposition party’s deliberate spread of falsehoods,’ aimed at misleading the electorate ahead of the polls.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, maintained that no amount of lies, false allegations, or fabricated stories would sway the resolve of the people, who, he said, are determined to vote for the APC and its candidate on election day.

“The opposition is jittery because of the electoral defeat that awaits them on Aug. 15, and that is why they are spreading misinformation on a daily basis.

“But the good news is that the people of Osun are now wiser and will not repeat the mistake they made in 2022.

“They are eager to return the APC to power in Osun”, he said.

He further noted that the APC has put its house in order and that no amount of underhand tactics would derail its chances of victory.

According to him, the party’s winning prospects have been further strengthened by its candidate, Oyebamiji, who he described as a man of integrity, honesty, and diligence.

Oyintiloye also expressed confidence that, given the calibre of members of the campaign committee headed by Hon. Wole Oke, the opposition party would suffer a resounding defeat.

He urged the people of the state to remain steadfast and not be misled by desperate individuals who are working to derail the state’s return to progressive governance
