The Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa, has called on Muslims across Nigeria to prioritise actions that promote good governance.
Speaking during this year’s Maolud Nabiyy, a celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), Arc Giwa stated that every citizen, regardless of status, has a role to play in advancing the nation’s growth by upholding justice, fairness, and responsibility as outlined in the Holy Quran.
He urged those in positions of authority to model their leadership on the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), stressing the importance of the rule of law, accountability, transparency, and equity.
He further appealed for policies that address poverty and improve the quality of life for all Nigerians, regardless of religious, ethnic, or cultural differences.
As the founder of the Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc Giwa encouraged citizens to be actively involved in ensuring good governance by remaining committed, engaged, and believing in the system.
He also stressed the importance of prayers for the nation’s leaders and urged peaceful coexistence among all communities.
“The key essence of Maolud Nabiyy is to reflect on the life of Prophet Muhammed and to adjust our own lives accordingly, strengthening our bonds with fellow Muslims and promoting peace with others,” Giwa concluded.
