Vice President Kashim Shettima is mourning the loss of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir, who passed away in Kano on Sunday evening at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness.
The deceased has been laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Kano, following Islamic traditions.
Renowned for her exemplary character and kind-hearted nature, Hajiya Maryam was a respected figure in her community.

“She was known for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to charitable causes, and she served as a source of guidance and support for both her family and the wider community in Kano,” Ameen Amishi, an aide to the vice president stated.
