Rep. Kolawole Applauds Tinubu, Labour Unions For Reaching Minimum Wage Agreement

A Federal Lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II (Moba, Ido/Osi, and Ilejemeje LGAs), Hon. Akinlayo Davidson Kolawole, has hailed the resolution reached between the Federal Government and Labour Unions on a new minimum wage of Seventy Thousand Naira for Nigerian workers as commendable and promising.

“There is no doubt that the agreement was a necessary sacrifice on both sides—government and workers—to advance the country, especially given the current economic realities,” Kolawole stated.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Hon. Kolawole praised President Tinubu’s courage and foresight in achieving an amicable, peaceful, and acceptable resolution on the matter.

“This development once again proves to all Nigerians, regardless of political or religious affiliations, that the APC-led government in Nigeria can address some of the country’s challenges through round-table discussions and achieve beneficial results for all,” he added.

Kolawole stressed the importance of continued public confidence in the government, urging citizens to support and pray for the Tinubu-led administration as it pursues rapid economic recovery through pragmatic approaches with the interests of the masses as a priority.

“I assure Nigerians that many of the challenges facing the country will soon become a thing of the past with the support of all, especially for President Tinubu, who has been ‘walking the talk’ in his determination to rebuild the nation,” Kolawole affirmed.

The lawmaker said Nigerian lawmakers will continue to support every bill aimed at promoting and enhancing harmonious working relationships between the government and workers.

Commending Nigerian workers for their past support of the current administration, Kolawole called for continued support, stating that civil service is a crucial aspect of government that must be nurtured to ensure optimal performance of the workforce.

While congratulating Nigerian workers, Kolawole urged them to re-dedicate themselves to achieving the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the present administration to expedite national development.

The legislator also praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State for giving premium to Ekiti workers’ welfare since assuming office, noting that this move has paved the way for the rapid development of the state. He solicited further support for the governor from civil servants and all Ekiti citizens.

Reminding Nigerian workers, Kolawole said, “to whom much is given, much is expected, adding that It is through hard work, commitment, and sincerity to duties that government welfare and incentives for Nigerian workers can be justified.
