Mogaji Igbinsola Sunday Paul, a prominent community leader and Oyo State Coordinator of the JDS Political Dynasty, has announced the passing of his beloved sister, Evangelist Olubisi Julianah Abu (nee Igbinsola), describing her death as the loss of his greatest pillar of strength and a woman whose life was defined by love, sacrifice and unwavering faith in God.
In a heartfelt tribute released to announce her passing, titled “My Matriarch and Goddess Goes Home: A Night of Tribute to a Mother,” Igbinsola reflected on the profound impact the late matriarch had on his life, saying words could not fully express his gratitude, love and appreciation for her.
According to him, after the death of his biological father, the deceased stepped into the role of a mother, mentor, guardian and steadfast supporter, taking him under her care from the tender age of six. He recalled that while others turned away from him, she stood firmly by his side, making enormous sacrifices to ensure he lacked nothing.
He noted that the late Madam Edu raised him in the Anglican faith, teaching him to trust God in all circumstances. He said her constant prayers, wise counsel, loving instructions and encouragement shaped his character and inspired him to become the person he is today.
Describing her as the backbone of the family, Igbinsola said the deceased was known for putting others before herself and lived a life marked by kindness, humility, courage and selfless service. He added that although her passing had created an irreplaceable void, the cherished memories they shared and her enduring legacy would continue to live in his heart.
Expressing gratitude for her lifetime of love and sacrifice, he said he would forever treasure every prayer, every word of wisdom and every act of kindness she bestowed upon him. He prayed for her gentle soul to rest in perfect peace and affirmed his faith that they would meet again where there would be no more sorrow or pain.
The tribute concluded with a message of hope rooted in his Christian faith: “I’m sure of my faith that I will laugh over this storm as the Lord Jesus will continue to be my God.”
Meanwhile, according to a statement by the family, the burial and thanksgiving will come up on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Christ Apostolic Church, Blessed District, Wakajaye, Ibadan, at 10am.
