The celebration of life continued at the Emeritus Prof. Theophilus Ogunlesi Multipurpose Hall, where guests from different parts of the country gathered to honour the memory of the deceased and identify with her family. The large turnout of dignitaries, church faithful, associates and friends reflected the profound impact Evangelist Abu made during her lifetime.

Speakers at the event described the late evangelist as a passionate soul winner whose dedication to spreading the gospel inspired many. They recalled her selfless service, steadfast faith and commitment to advancing the work of God, even in difficult and challenging environments.

Speaking on behalf of the family, her son, Mr. Silvanus Olusola Abu, fondly remembered his mother as a fearless evangelist and a woman of uncommon courage who took the gospel to remote communities where many others were unwilling to go.

“My mother was a strong fighter and a committed evangelist who fearlessly preached the gospel in the interior parts of Ibadan and surrounding communities where many preachers could hardly venture. She taught me the importance of prayer and instilled in me the conviction that help comes only from God. Her unwavering faith remains one of the greatest legacies she left for us,” he said.

Mr. Abu expressed profound appreciation to everyone who travelled from far and near to honour his late mother and support the family during the burial ceremonies. He urged people to celebrate individuals who positively impact society while they are still alive, rather than waiting until after their passing.

“My message is that we should celebrate people who have lived impactful lives. We should not only mourn them when they are gone. I strongly believe my mother has gone to rest with her Maker and is rejoicing in God’s presence,” he added.

Evangelist Juliana Olubisi Abu is survived by her children—Evangelist (Mrs.) Olunike Joshua, Mr. Silvanus Olusola Abu and Miss Moyinoluwa Olukemi Abu as well as grandchildren and many spiritual children whose lives were transformed through her ministry.

Although she has departed this earthly world, those who attended the funeral agreed that her unwavering faith, courage, and lifelong dedication to evangelism will continue to inspire generations to come.
