The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oyo State chapter, has taken a strategic step to strengthen its internal structure with the inauguration of its Special Duties Committees on Thursday, November 13, at the party’s state secretariat in Ibadan.
Presided over by the Oyo State Chairman, Alhaji Olayinka Olona, the inauguration brought together notable party leaders, including grassroots mobiliser and respected chieftain, Chief Funso Owoade, popularly known as Student. Owoade was appointed alongside several other dedicated members to drive the party’s operational efficiency ahead of future political engagements.

Speaking at the ceremony, Alhaji Olona described the inauguration as a pivotal move to reposition the ADC for better organisation, improved coordination, and enhanced visibility across the 33 local government areas of the state.
He noted that the Special Duties Committees were created to energise the party’s structure and ensure effective community engagement.

Others are Barrister Bimpe Adelowo (Publicity & Communications); Hon. Kayode Oyewole Akerele (Fund Raising); Barr. Bello Babatunde (Membership Registration); and Alh. Tiamiyu Abidikugu (Accommodation & Logistics).
Chief Owoade, while speaking with journalists after the inauguration, commended the state leadership for its renewed commitment to rebuilding and expanding the party’s influence.
He assured that the committees would work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in them and to deliver on the mandate to strengthen the ADC at ward, local government, and state levels.
Other appointees expressed readiness to contribute their quota to the rebirth of the party, promising teamwork, innovation, and loyalty to the party’s ideals.
The inauguration marks a fresh phase in the ADC’s revitalisation drive in Oyo State, as the party positions itself for stronger political relevance and increased acceptance among the electorate.
