Fmr Konga CEO Nick Imudia Allegedly Commits Suicide In Lagos Apartment, Police Investigate

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Konga and current CEO of D.light, a leading solar energy solutions company.

Imudia reportedly died by suicide on June 25, 2024, at his residence in Lekki, Lagos.

The incident has left family, friends, and colleagues in shock as they try to comprehend the circumstances leading to his tragic decision.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the investigation to the media.

According to Hundeyin, Imudia allegedly jumped from the balcony of his apartment, resulting in fatal injuries, confirming  the police have begun a thorough investigation through the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.

Imudia, 45, reportedly made several calls before his death. He contacted his brother in the United States, giving him instructions on how to distribute his wealth. He also called his young daughter, reassuring her of his perpetual presence in her life.

These final interactions suggest he was planning his actions, though the exact reasons remain unclear.

Born on April 28, 1979, in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Imudia was a distinguished business executive and technology leader.

He held a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Management from the Mikkeli Institute of Technology in Finland and a Master of Engineering degree in Oil and Gas Technology from Aalborg University.

He later obtained an MBA in International Business Management from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

Imudia’s career was marked by significant achievements in the business and technology sectors.

His role as CEO of Konga, one of Nigeria’s prominent e-commerce platforms, and later as CEO of D.light, highlighted his leadership and innovative skills.

His sudden death has left a void in the industry and raised questions about the pressures faced by business executives.

As the investigation continues, Imudia’s family, friends, and colleagues are left mourning his loss.
