Baiwa Educational Services (BES) in Lapai was officially registered as an academic organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Thursday, November 25, 2010.
According to the Rector, Mallam Musa Bello Suleiman, “BES launched operational centers for the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) in 2010 across three local government areas: Lapai, Agaie, and Gawu Babangida. Lapai alone hosts eight NABTEB centers.”
In 2013, BES established an affiliation with Tower Polytechnic in Ibadan, Oyo State, to offer National Diploma programs. This partnership marked the beginning of BES’s higher education affiliations.
In 2018, BES secured an affiliation with Federal Polytechnic Kaduna (KADPOLY) to run Diploma programs in Lapai.
This initiative, supported by His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Bago Tafiya III, created employment for 35 lecturers and brought higher education closer to local communities.
On May 23, 2023, BES achieved a significant milestone when it received a provisional license to operate as a tertiary institution from the Niger State Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology.
This approval led to the establishment of Baiwa School of Administrative and Management Studies, the first private polytechnic in Niger State.
