Dare Aliu, a leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has praised the growing number of former governorship candidates now supporting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He sees this as proof of the governor’s good work.
Aliu, who directs diaspora matters for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation, highlighted this in a Saturday statement. He especially praised Chief Olusola Oke, a major contender in the last governorship primary, for joining forces with Aiyedatiwa’s team.
Aliu also acknowledged other former candidates like Hon. Okujimi Odimayo, Morayo Lebi, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, Dr. Soji Ehinlanwo, Prince Diran Iyantan, Mayowa Akinfolarin, and Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo for their support.
In a statement from the United States, Aliu mentioned that Oke believes in strong leadership and teamwork and recognizes Aiyedatiwa’s potential to succeed. He noted that with experienced politicians like Oke on the team, Aiyedatiwa’s victory seems assured.
Aliu highlighted the governor’s achievements over the past seven months, including financial aid to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal, such as an extra N35,000 wage for public workers, free bus services for government workers and students, and N2 billion in soft loans for artisans and small traders. Additionally, the governor has resumed road construction projects and awarded new contracts to improve infrastructure.
Aliu also mentioned that Aiyedatiwa, along with Ondo State natives and other Nigerians abroad, is working to attract credible foreign investors to the state to boost the economy and create jobs. He emphasized the state’s untapped mineral resources and fertile lands suitable for large-scale agriculture, expressing a need for real investors to help harness these resources for the common good, with the governor fully supporting this initiative.
