SDP Condemns Abduction Of Campaign Officer, Seeks Intervention of Security Agencies

Social Democratic Party in Niger state has condemned the abduction of Director of New Media for the MuriSam Campaign Council, Comrade Isaiah Davies Ijele

Mr Ijele was kidnapped by unknown gun-men on Tuesday at his residence, resulting to killing of his security details.

In a statement by Unekwu-Ojo Joshua Ocheje, Secretary, New Media, MuriSam Campaign Council, security agencies were urged to ensuring the release of Mr Ijele and bringing the perpetrators to book.

The statement reads, “We the Social Democratic Party, vehemently condemn this flagrant violation of human rights and democratic values. This incident, which lasted more than thirty minutes, is a grave threat to the democratic fabric of our nation. Such acts of tyranny have no place in a society that values justice, freedom, and the rule of law.

“We call upon the federal government to urgently intervene and bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice. We firmly believe that His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as the commander in chief of the armed forces, will not tolerate such lawlessness within our borders. We implore the President to swiftly take action and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable for their actions.

“The New Media team of the Social Democratic Party expresses its solidarity with Comrade Ijele and his family during this distressing time. We stand united against any form of violence and intimidation aimed at silencing the voices of the people. Our commitment to upholding democratic principles remains unwavering, and we will continue to advocate for justice and accountability.

“As we await the immediate intervention of the federal government, we reassure our peaceful supporters that we will not be deterred by these acts of violence. We will continue to engage in peaceful advocacy and pacify our supporters, calling for unity and resilience in the face of adversity,” the statement concluded.
