The Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide who is also the Mogaji Aare Alasa Dynasty in Ibadanland, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, JP, has commiserated with the Balogun of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, over the transition of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola, the Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland.
In a condolence message personally signed by him, Professor Olagoke described the death of Olori Ajibola as a great loss not only to the Balogun’s palace but to Ibadanland and the larger community of faithful women leaders who stood for honour, family values and cultural dignity.
He said Olori Basirat Ajibola lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation, marked by humility, piety, motherly care and unwavering support for her husband and the traditional institution of Ibadanland.
According to him, “We received with deep shock the news of the passing of Olori Basirat Ajibola. She was a virtuous woman, a pillar behind the throne, and a matriarch whose quiet strength and devotion to humanity will remain indelible. Her departure has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.”
Professor Olagoke noted that in moments like this, the faithful are called to submit totally to the will of Almighty Allah, who gives and takes life at His appointed time, urging His Majesty to take solace in the exemplary life Olori lived.
He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) in His infinite mercy forgives her shortcomings, grants her Aljanah Firdaus, and comforts Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, the children, the entire Ajibola family, the Olubadan-in-Council and all sons and daughters of Ibadanland.
“On behalf of myself, my family and the entire Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide, I extend our heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty and pray that Allah grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
