Leaders and supporters of the Ona-Ara political movement have expressed confidence that justice will prevail following the adjournment of the court case challenging the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.
The case, which came up for hearing on Monday, July 20, 2026, was adjourned by the court until September 16, 2026, for further proceedings.
According to a statement issued by the Ona-Ara community leaders, counsel representing Hon. Akin Alabi requested the adjournment to enable the legal team properly file necessary processes and also informed the court of its intention to withdraw earlier submissions.
Although the leaders described the delay as regrettable, they maintained that it would not weaken their resolve to pursue what they described as their legitimate mandate through the judicial process.
“We remain resolute and unwavering. We are confident that justice will prevail, and by the grace of God, we shall succeed and reclaim our mandate,” the statement read.
The group further reassured supporters across Egbeda and Ona-Ara Local Government Areas that their struggle was far from over, insisting that the aspiration of the Ona-Ara people would not be derailed.
They declared that “Ona-Ara Lokan has come to stay” and urged party faithful and residents to remain calm and united while awaiting the next hearing.
The leaders also appealed to supporters not to lose hope, expressing confidence that the court would ultimately deliver justice.
They concluded the statement with prayers and words of encouragement, affirming their belief that victory would eventually be theirs.
