It was a moment of honour, solidarity and deep affection in Ondo Town, Ondo State on Saturday as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Adaora Umeoji, led a high-powered delegation of the bank’s management and staff to celebrate and stand by one of their own, Mr. Kayode Akinbinu, during the burial ceremony of his mother, Madam Ileola Caroline Akinbinu.

The late matriarch, who passed away on March 15, 2026, was laid to rest on Saturday, May 22, 2026, amid glowing tributes from family members, friends, associates and dignitaries who described her as a virtuous woman whose life was marked by humility, discipline and dedication to humanity.

The presence of the Zenith Bank GMD alongside a large entourage of senior officials and staff from the bank’s headquarters added colour and prestige to the ceremony, as many residents of Ondo Town trooped out to witness the rare show of love and unity displayed by the financial institution.

Mrs. Umeoji attended the church service in company of top management staff and associates of the bank, demonstrating the strong bond and family culture that Zenith Bank is widely known for.

Observers at the event described the gesture as a reflection of the bank’s corporate values which place premium on compassion, loyalty and interpersonal relationships beyond the workplace.

Speaking in hushed admiration, several guests commended the leadership of Zenith Bank for identifying with Mr. Akinbinu and his family during the moment of grief, noting that such support speaks volumes about the institution’s internal culture and human-centred leadership.

Mr. Akinbinu, who currently serves as Head, Global Market Expansion and Cost Control at Zenith Bank, was seen receiving guests alongside members of his family as sympathisers and well-wishers paid their final respects to the deceased.
