The Eko Tourism Foundation (ETF) has joined the global community in celebrating World Tourism Day 2025, themed “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
In a statement, the Foundation noted that this year’s theme aligns strongly with its mission to reposition Lagos as Africa’s leading tourism destination through innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.
“Tourism remains a powerful driver of growth and job creation. With its rich culture, vibrant festivals, thriving nightlife, and creative heritage, Lagos is uniquely positioned to lead Africa’s tourism renaissance,” the statement read.
The ETF highlighted its flagship initiatives, including the ETF Trust Fund, ETF Academy, the Experience Lagos Project, and its Annual International Conference, which are designed to build a globally competitive, locally beneficial, and environmentally responsible tourism ecosystem.
Calling for wider collaboration, the Foundation urged government, investors, stakeholders, and residents of Lagos to support its vision of making the state not only Nigeria’s commercial hub but also the nation’s tourism capital.
“With collective effort, Lagos can become a destination where the world comes to experience history, culture, innovation, and hospitality,” the statement concluded.
