In a condolence message made available to the press, Mogaji Mafikuyomi described the late monarch as a revered royal father whose reign, though brief, symbolized peace, unity, and continuity in the cherished traditions of Ibadanland.
Dr. Mafikuyomi, during a condolence visit to the palace, wrote in the condolence register and described the late monarch as “a father, handlifter, and a mentor par excellence.”
“The demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, is a great loss not only to Ibadanland but to the entire Yoruba nation. His life was a testament to humility, wisdom, and service to humanity. As a Mogaji and son of the soil, I join the entire Ibadan traditional institution and people in mourning this irreplaceable loss,” he said.
He prayed for the repose of the monarch’s soul and comfort for the royal family, the Olubadan-in-Council, and all indigenes of Ibadanland.
Mafikuyomi also reaffirmed his commitment to preserving the legacy and values upheld by the late Olubadan, urging other traditional titleholders to continue to work in unity for the growth and cultural preservation of Ibadan.
