President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm nominees for the newly established South-West, North-Central, and South-South Development Commissions.
The request was conveyed in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Thursday. In the correspondence, President Tinubu named a total of 55 individuals for appointment across the three commissions.
For the North-Central Development Commission, 19 nominees were listed, with Cosmas Akiyir proposed as chairman and Cyril Yeltsin as managing director.
In the South-West Development Commission, 18 appointees were put forward, including Olubunmi Adetunbi as chairman and Charles Akinola as managing director.
The South-South Development Commission also has 18 nominees, with Chibudom Nwuche named as chairman and Usoro Offiong Akpabio as managing director.
The appointments are pending confirmation by the Senate.
