President Bola Tinubu on Thursday welcomed President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal to the State House in Abuja.
Accompanied by key members of his administration, President Tinubu extended a warm reception to the Senegalese leader, who is visiting the nation’s capital on official duties.
President Faye assumed office as Senegal’s President in April, following a resounding victory in the elections. Tinubu was present at his inauguration, where Faye, at 44 years old, became the youngest president of Senegal, propelled by a platform of significant reforms.
Despite lacking prior elected experience, Faye’s ascension to power garnered attention from across Africa, with several regional leaders attending his swearing-in ceremony in Diamniadio, near Dakar, the capital.
The visit underscores the strengthening ties between Nigeria and Senegal, marking a significant moment in bilateral relations between the two West African nations.
