His education at Bourdillon International School of Political Science laid the foundation for a career marked by integrity and dedication. Standing tall, both in stature and reputation, he has earned the affectionate moniker “Aguntasowolo” in Yoruba circles, though many prefer to call him the “Engine Room in the Center of Excellence” for his relentless work behind the scenes in Lagos State.

His dedication to public service is reflected in his role as the former Chief Detail to the President when the latter served as the Executive Governor of Lagos State.

This position was not just a job for Ayinde; it was a testament to his loyalty, reliability, and profound understanding of both individual and societal needs. These qualities have made him a grassroots politician who is deeply attuned to the feelings of the people he serves.

In 2021, Ayinde was honored with the “Oluomo Ti Ile Odu’a” award by the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, a coalition that has been a driving force in Nigeria since its founding in 2001.

The council, known for its commitment to the betterment of Yoruba youth and its deep connections with prominent leaders across Nigeria, recognized Ayinde’s unwavering contributions to the development of Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.

The Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, known in Yoruba as Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba, is not just any organization. Founded inside the historic Trenchard Hall at the University of Ibadan, it has been a beacon of hope and progress for Yoruba youth for over two decades.

With the blessings of Yoruba leaders and their allies from the far North, the council has been instrumental in shaping the future of countless young Nigerians. Ayinde’s involvement with this group is just one example of his broader commitment to the country’s progress.

As Ayinde steps into his seventh decade, the coalition of pro-democracy groups, along with his colleagues, friends, and well-wishers, celebrate a man whose impact on Nigerian politics is profound. His life’s work is a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, humility, and a deep-seated commitment to excellence.

Happy 60th Birthday, Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde—Lagos State’s indomitable Chief of Staff and the true “Engine Room” of Nigeria’s Center of Excellence. May your years ahead be filled with continued success and fulfillment.
