Oyo State’s Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Professor Dahud Shangodoyin, joined notable personalities on Tuesday to mark the fifth anniversary of Parrot Xtra Hour, a popular radio program aired on Splash 105.5 FM, Ibadan.

Shangodoyin, who was the special guest on the celebratory episode, reminisced about being the show’s inaugural guest five years ago during his tenure as Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology.

He offered prayers for the continued growth of Parrot Xtra Media Network, the parent company of the show, and the radio stations Splash 105.5 FM and Lagelu 96.7 FM, owned by Oba Adebayo Akande.

“I thank God for this remarkable journey,” Shangodoyin said. “It’s heartwarming to see the program thrive over the years. May God continue to uplift the network and its affiliated stations.”

In response, Ambassador Olayinka Agboola, the CEO of Parrot Xtra Media Network, expressed gratitude to Shangodoyin and his team for honoring the occasion.

He also lauded Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for the infrastructural advancements in Oyo State, comparing the state’s roads to those in developed countries.

Agboola explained that the low-key celebration was intentional, as a larger event is planned for May 5, 2025. On that date, the network will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Parrot Xtra Magazine and its online platform, PMParrot.com, alongside Agboola’s 60th birthday.

The Parrot Xtra Hour runs live every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Splash 105.5 FM.
