Hon. Temitope Olumide Adesina, the chairmanship candidate of Ibadan Northwest in the Oyo State April 2024 local government election under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has bemoaned the state of education and healthcare delivery services in the local government since the last three years
Adesina during his house to house campaign of Ward 11, Eleyele declared that the incumbent chairman, Hon. Rahman Adepoju since came on board has failed to improve the standard of education in the local government.
According to the youthful candidate, “it saddened my heart to see a public school like An-waru Islam Primary School here in Eleyele where pupils sit on the floor under leaked roof”.
“The report I got from stakeholders clearly confirmed that the current administration under the chairmanship of Hon. Adepoju, has no programme for the development of education at all despite the huge allocation being released by the state government for the local government,” Adesina said.
The chairmanship hopeful said if he wins the April 24 local government poll, his administration would give priority to educational facilities in all the public schools.
“One major step I will take is to refurbish the dilapidated primary schools which the present chairman has abandoned and provide critical amenities for our pupils for conducive learning,” he said.
Adesina also promised to provide functional Health Care System, by ensuring that primary healthcare centers in Ibadan Northwest are equipped with necessary drugs.
“I have said it without numbers that if given the mandate, my administration will be a clear departure from old style because my concern and vision for development of Ibadan Northwest will be of the interest of the people,” he affirmed.
