Veteran Yoruba actor Saidi Balogun has shared a deeply emotional reflection on his struggles over the past year, revealing how a series of unexpected challenges, including the loss of his beloved daughter, tested his strength.
Balogun took to his Instagram page to post a picture of himself with a hand injury, explaining that last year was particularly difficult for him.
He disclosed that his troubles began in February 2024, on his birthday, when he had high hopes and well-laid-out plans, only for unforeseen hardships to derail his optimism.
“The worst of it all was losing my precious, loving, and lovable daughter. This broke me into pieces beyond human comprehension,” he wrote.
Despite the heartbreak, Balogun expressed gratitude to those who stood by him during his trying times.
However, just as he looked forward to a fresh start in 2025, another misfortune struck a few days before his birthday, leading to his recent hand injury.
Addressing his followers’ concerns about his birthday photoshoot, where he displayed only one hand, he explained, “For those who have been asking, this is the reason. All in all, I will keep saying Alhamdulilah, for Allah will never forsake us. Challenges will come to test your strength, so never lose your guard, remain strong and steadfast. May the Almighty be with us all.”
Balogun’s revelation has drawn an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues, who have taken to social media to encourage and pray for the actor.
