In a solemn yet power-packed spiritual atmosphere that marked the transition into a new calendar year, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, alongside her husband Dr. C. M. Igbokwe and the entire household, joined worshippers at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Imo Salvation Parish for the Crossover Night Service into 2026.

The prophetic service, ministered by the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, set a deeply reflective and forward-looking tone for the year, drawing from profound scriptural foundations including Revelation 1:8, Hebrews 13:8, Jeremiah 1:4–5, Genesis 1:22–28, Genesis 2:7, Genesis 17:1, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 9:10–13, and Joshua 1:1–9; 13:1.

Central to the message was the reminder that God does not operate by human calendars of years, but by divine moments and days, knowing the end from the beginning and possessing the power to step into any situation, now, if only we allow Him.

Pastor Adeboye led the congregation in heartfelt thanksgiving and supplication, acknowledging God’s faithfulness through the uncertainties of 2025, praying for the restoration of lost opportunities, clarity of lessons learnt, grace for discernment in 2026, and renewed commitment to purposeful service unto God alone.

Inspired by this profound spiritual encounter, the Rector, upon resumption to duty this morning, issued a strong institutional charge to the Polytechnic community, declaring 2026 as “A Year of Forward Drive and Rising Excellence.”

In her charge, Dr. Mrs. Igbokwe called on staff, students, and stakeholders to align institutional vision with discipline, innovation, and divine purpose. She emphasized that just as God knows how every destiny is designed to end, the Polytechnic must remain intentional in its journey, maximizing opportunities, restoring lost grounds, and pursuing excellence with unwavering focus.

“As God is saying I can step in now if you allow Me, this year calls us to openness, openness to growth, to learning, to innovation, and to purposeful service. We must not lose a single opportunity to advance academically, administratively, or morally,” the Rector charged.

She further reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to deepening academic standards, strengthening institutional culture, enhancing human capacity, and producing graduates who are not only skilled and competitive, but ethically grounded and nationally relevant.

As the first Press Release from the Rector’s Media Office of the year, this spiritual and institutional convergence sets a compelling tone for 2026, one rooted in gratitude, restoration, clarity of purpose, and bold institutional progress.

With unity of purpose and dedication to duty, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community steps confidently into the new year, driving progress deliberately, pursuing excellence relentlessly, and rising to greater heights of distinction.
