The ZLP Group of the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party has congratulated the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Maknde, for emerging the vice Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).
A statement signed by the group’s chairman, and secretary, Comrade Wole Abisoye and Mr Tajudeen Adedokun respectively and obtained by WesternLifeNewsNG says, “The NGF’s unanimous decision to choose Governor Seyi Makinde as the deputy chairman of the Forum is seen as a good omen for Nigeria, considering Makinde’s proven record of examplary leadership and remarkable achievements in both private and public service.
The statement noted the forum’s determination to deepen democracy at this period of new transition in the country, must have also contributed to making an informed choice of Governor Makinde as its deputy leader
“It is our believe that the unanimous decision of the NGF to choose our governor as ihe forum vice charman arose from Nigeria’s governors resolve to deepen our democracy, even as we are entering a new dispensation,” the statement read partly.
The group expressed confident the new leadership of the group will cooperate and supporting the incoming administration and ensure economic and social stability
“We wish both “the chairman, Governor AbdulRasaq AbdulRaman and our own Governor Makinde a very successful and impactful tenure,” the statement concluded.
