Parliament Diary Newspapers Celebrates 4th Anniversary, Holds Dialogue, Awards Ceremony

Parliament Diary Newspapers, a prominent publication focusing on the Nigerian National Assembly, will commemorate its 4th Anniversary with an Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Nigerian National Merit Award House in Maitama, Abuja.

The event, starting at 4:00 PM, will follow the inaugural Parliament Diary Dialogue.

The Parliament Diary Dialogue is designed to facilitate discussions among parliamentarians, government officials, civil society, and the media on critical legislative matters affecting Nigeria and the broader African region.

This year’s theme, “Coup d’états and ECOWAS Unity: The Role of National Assemblies,” aims to address pressing issues of governance and stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Outstanding Religious Leader of the Year:

Outstanding Political Leader of the Year:
Barr. Julius Abure
Outstanding Personality of the Year:
Hon. Dr. (Chief) Amb. Jim Okolo Chimezie
Outstanding Female Personality of the Year:
Amb. Dr. Ifeoma Annabel Anyanwu
Outstanding Public Servant of the Year:
Alh. Sani Magaji Tambawal
Outstanding Female Public Officer of the Year:

Other categories include awards for legislators, industrialists, telecom brands, local government leaders, and trade union leaders, as well as special recognition awards for valor, patriotism, and philanthropic efforts.

Distinguished attendees expected at the event include Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, who will serve as Chairman of the occasion, and Her Excellency Rt. Hon. Memounatu Ibrahim, Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, as Chief Guest of Honour.

Other notable guests include General Paul Tarela Boroh (Rtd.), Major General Oluwaseun Olayinka (Rtd.), and Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi.
