…urges residents to key into state’s health insurance scheme
Residents of Oyo state have been advised to take good care of their health and take advantage of the ongoing Omituntun free health mission.
The Director, Secondary Healthcare, Ministry of Health, Oyo State,
Dr. Wale Falana, said this on Friday while responding to questions from journalists in Oyo town on the ongoing Omituntun Free Health Mission.
Dr. Falana who is also the coordinator of the medical outreach, revealed that necessary arrangements have been made for follow-up treatment for beneficiaries of the program across public health facilities in the state.
He hinted that the plight of Governor Seyi Makinde is to ensure that the entire residents of the state benefit from good governance.
He said :This Omituntun Free Health is the second one for this year, and the first of 2.0. The people of Oyo town came out enmasse to participate in the free health project, which covered medical challenges like cataract removal, Caesarion section, physiotherapist and dental care as other communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Also, Hernia surgery, surgery for cataract, eye treatment, free glasses, medical communicable and non-communicable diseases treatment were done. And those that need hypertensive, and diabetes drugs were given.
He urged the people of the state to key into the Oyo state health insurance scheme for their wellbeing.
Earlier, Dr. Tunde Aremu, said the focus of the government was to ensure that the less privileged have access to qualitative health care at all times.
Some beneficiaries of the free medical outreach at the program, applauded Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunities they had to treat their ailments at no cost.
The program continues in Moniya, Apata, Orile odo, kasumu Ajia, Akanran, Oluwonla Bashorun, Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Pensioner’s House and Ring Road Specialist Hospital , lbadan .
