Oyo CPN Aligns With Global Campaign Against Child Labour

The Child Protection Network (CPN), Oyo State has joined the global movement to end child labour and ensure every child enjoys a safe, educated, and dignified life.

This was contained in a statement issued by the State Coordinator of CPN Dr Rosemary Odigbo and made available to Newsmen in Ibadan.

According to the statement, “We remain deeply committed through: to the rescue and safeguarding of vulnerable children, in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages and IOM on family tracing and reintegration of unaccompanied Nigerian minors repatriated from abroad, active membership in the Oyo State Steering Committee on Child Labour (Federal Ministry of Labour), School outreaches across Oyo State to raise awareness and prevent exploitation, community engagement projects across Oyo State, supported through a grant from SOS Children’s Villages, and focused on strengthening local child protection systems and building community resilience against child labour.”

Dr. Rosemary Odigbo, State Coordinator of CPN Oyo, stated: “Child labour is not just a violation of rights—it’s the theft of dreams and potential. Through collaboration and commitment, saying we can end this menace and ensure every child grows in dignity, safety, and hope.”

Part of the activities marking this day was a School outreach held at ISABATUDEEN GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL, Ibadan, organized by Child Protection network in collaboration with Oyo state Steering Committee on Child Labour on Wednesday 11th June, 2025, led by CPN Deputy State Coordinator, Mrs. Ibukunoluwa Otesile, and CPN representative at the Steering Committee. Alhaja Ogungbenro and other members.
