Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has withdrawn his earlier criticism of Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Abba.

WesternLifeNewsNG had reported that Davido accused the Commissioner of failing to uphold the rule of law following violent attacks in the state’s local government councils that resulted in three deaths.

However, after reassessing the situation, he acknowledged the police’s efforts to maintain peace and order.

In a statement on his social media page, Davido expressed regret for not recognizing the Commissioner’s dedication earlier, stating, “I now see that the issue is more than that of the Commissioner of Police or other security chiefs… At this point, the contributions of the police commissioner were not fully appreciated by me. This is a grave oversight.”

He urged Osun State residents and stakeholders to ensure a peaceful local government election scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd, stating the importance of upholding the rule of law and commending the security agencies’ commitment to peacekeeping.

Previously, in his frustration over the violence, Davido had directed strong words toward the police chief, demanding respect for the rule of law.
