The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, has passed away following injuries sustained in a car accident.
Oluwatuyi was involved in the tragic accident on Sunday, December 15, 2024, while traveling from Akure, the Ondo State capital, to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after weeks of hospitalization.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Wale Akinlosotu, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
“It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government, on January 4, 2025,” Akinlosotu stated.
He described Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation significantly shaped Ondo State’s progress.
Hon. Oluwatuyi served the state in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as Secretary to the State Government. His unwavering commitment and impactful service to the state earned him a reputation for excellence.
The Ondo State Government has extended condolences to his family, friends, and associates, promising to announce memorial arrangements in due course.
Oluwatuyi’s demise marks a significant loss to Ondo State, where he will be remembered for his invaluable contributions to governance and development.
