NYSC Members Pay Courtesy Visit To Rector, Federal Polytechnic Nekede

The National Youth Service Corps members serving at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, on Friday, August 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the institution’s 9th substantive Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, in the Rectory Council Chamber.

Speaking on behalf of the corps members, Michael Babayemi Damilola (IM/24C/1871) thanked the Rector for her outstanding leadership, particularly for ensuring their welfare through regular and timely payment of stipends. The group presented a gift to the Rector in appreciation of her motherly care.

Corps member Obasan Joshua Abolaji (IM/24C/1975) appealed for an increment in the monthly stipends.

Responding, the Rector appreciated their dedication and assured them that management would review the request after due analysis, urging patience and continued commitment. She also offered them a cash gift as a token of appreciation.

The Registrar, Mr. Ugochukwu Stanley Njoku, praised the corps members’ civility and promised that management would make their service year at the polytechnic a fulfilling one.

The event ended with cheerful exchanges and a group photograph with the Rector, Registrar, Polytechnic Librarian, and corps members’ representatives.
