Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, affectionately known as Big Bolaji, has passed away at the age of 50.
The esteemed gospel singer and ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) died on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025, following a brief illness .
In an official statement, his family described him as “a cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community and the music industry.”
They expressed that his departure “leaves a void in our hearts that cannot be filled,” highlighting his unwavering faith and dedication to uplifting those around him .
Born in Osun State and raised in Ibadan, Oyo State, Big Bolaji was a certified estate surveyor who began his music career with the group J’apha. He was renowned for his energetic praise sessions and was the convener of the annual concert “Turn It Up With Big Bolaji” held in Ibadan.
Big Bolaji is survived by his wife, Tolulope, and their children. The family has requested privacy during this time of mourning and stated that details regarding his funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
