Military Intervention Is Not Solution, Sani Warns Political Class

A former senator represented Kaduna central in national assembly, Shehu Sani has decried the recent resurgence of military intervention in some countries of West Africa region.

He appealed to the conscience of the people to perish the thought of military intervention to solve political crisis as this would do more harm than good.

WesternLifeNewsNG recalls that the presidential guard of Niger, overthrew the government of President Mohamed Bazoum on Wednesday.

The military junta announced in a late night broadcast on Wednesday that the Bazoum has been stripped of power and country’s institution suspended.

The incident sadly marrked the seventh coup in West and Central Africa since 2020.

The human rights advocate who was reacting on a trend comments on social media, emphasised that no democracy is perfect in the world, urging for more patience until our democracy gets better in the sub region.

He tweeted thus, “Military rule must be totally rejected and resisted in West Africa.

“Our democracy is not perfect and there is no perfect democracy anywhere.Military rule is not the solution.

“I’m surprised to read comments in the social media,it appears that many young people are now in support of it.

“I understand the disappointment and the frustration with the political class. It’s still better we continue to struggle to make our democracy better until we get it right.
