In a deeply symbolic convergence of love, culture, and institutional solidarity, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community gathered in resplendent unity to celebrate with the family of the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, on the auspicious occasion of the wedding ceremony of Chinaza Kindness Amazue and Martin Madubachukwu Maduka.
The colourful ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the revered Assumpta Cathedral Catholic Church, Owerri, Imo State, transcended the bounds of a private family event, evolving instead into a grand communal celebration that vividly reflected the deep-rooted bonds and shared identity within the Polytechnic family.

From the early hours of the day, the venue radiated an atmosphere of anticipation and festivity as dignitaries, management staff, students, and well wishers assembled in honour of the Rector’s family. The ceremony, richly infused with Igbo cultural expressions and Christian solemnity, presented a seamless fusion of tradition and faith, symbolizing not merely the union of two individuals, but the harmonious merging of families, values, and enduring legacies.
A distinguished and high-powered delegation from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede was in attendance, underscoring the institutional significance of the occasion. Present were the Rector’s husband, Dr. C.M. Igbokwe; the Deputy Rector (Academics), Dr. Obinna Iwueke; the Registrar, Mr. Ugochukwu Stanley Njoku; and the Bursar, Mrs. Adanne Chinyere Ojiuko, alongside her husband, Sir Ojiuko, who served as sponsors of the couple.

Also in attendance were the Polytechnic Orator, Dr. Anayo Uhiara; the Institutuon Public Relations Officer, Mr. Anayo Ikeh; as well as Directors, Heads of Departments, and Deputy Registrars, each contributing to the dignified presence that defined the ceremony.
Radiant in their elegant wedding attire, Chinaza and Martin embodied grace and poise as they exchanged vows of lifelong commitment. Their union was celebrated not only as a personal milestone but also as a reflection of enduring values, love, respect, fidelity, and family, which resonate profoundly within the Polytechnic community.
For many attendees, the overwhelming presence of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede family distinguishly adorned in black dress code and beautifully blended with the Polytechnic muffler imparted a distinctive character to the celebration. It represented more than ceremonial attendance; it was a reaffirmation of a shared institutional ethos rooted in unity, empathy, and collective joy. The remarkable turnout of staff, colleagues, and associates spoke eloquently of the deep respect and admiration accorded to Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe.
Through their visible support and goodwill, members of the Polytechnic community demonstrated that leadership transcends administrative confines, extending into genuine human connection and shared experiences. Their presence reinforced a culture of inclusivity, compassion, and mutual celebration that continues to define the institution’s character.
As melodies filled the air and cultural rites unfolded in vibrant succession at Atta, Ikeduru, Imo State, the traditional ceremony segment of the Marriage rites blossomed into a rich tapestry of joy and festivity. Laughter resonated across the gathering, dances captivated the audience, and heartfelt prayers were offered for a future marked by peace, prosperity, and enduring love for the newlyweds.
Adorned in exquisite traditional attire, Chinaza and Martin delighted guests with graceful dance steps, their joy both infectious and symbolic, capturing the essence of a union blessed by family, community, and tradition.

Indeed, the occasion stood as more than a wedding; it was a profound celebration of life, leadership, and communal spirit. It illustrated how moments of personal happiness can extend beyond the immediate, strengthening institutional bonds and fostering a deeper sense of belonging.
In celebrating Chinaza and Martin, who were connected with the Rector by family, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community ultimately celebrated love in its purest and most unifying form, selfless, enduring, and profoundly human.
