The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has received commendation for his recent trip to the United States, aimed at making the state a prime destination for investors in Nigeria.
“The trip by the Ekiti State delegation to Texas, led by Governor Oyebanji, is a strategic move to attract and facilitate the much-needed investment in the state and Nigeria as a whole,” stated Hon. Akinlayo Davidson Kolawole, a member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti North Federal Constituency II.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, Hon. Kolawole praised the governor’s participation in the U.S.-Africa Business Summit and the signing of memoranda of understanding with international firms.
He highlighted this as a significant step towards socio-economic advancement in Ekiti State.
“This latest business trip underscores the current administration’s commitment to seizing every opportunity, both domestically and internationally, to drive infrastructural development and provide essential social amenities,” Kolawole said.
Hon. Kolawole emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and private investors, noting that Ekiti State, with its limited internally generated revenue and federal allocation, requires such partnerships to achieve meaningful development.
“The governor’s determination to attract investors since taking office will undoubtedly transform Ekiti into a model industrial hub, setting a standard for other states in Nigeria,” he added.
Kolawole also lauded Governor Oyebanji’s prudent and accountable management of state resources, ensuring transparency and stakeholder inclusion, which has fostered a peaceful and conducive environment for investment.
The federal lawmaker urged other leaders in the state to emulate the governor’s selfless service and contribute to the state’s development. He assured Ekiti citizens that current legislators at both state and federal levels would continue to support the governor with legislation aimed at advancing the state.
“Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated exemplary leadership that all progressive-minded individuals should follow to promote unity and the rapid development of Ekiti State,” Kolawole concluded.
