The Secretary of the Ibadan North Local Government and Political Head of Irepodun Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dele Ladoja has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde over his election as the new vice chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
Mr Ladoja in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the state capital on Wednesday, expressed confidence in the Oyo State governor to make impact on the new assignment, considering his competence, integrity and leadership ability.
“I am happy to note the significant impact you are going to make on the new national assignment your colleagues have entrusted in you. I strongly believe that with your fine leadership style, strong character and competence, the clamour for fiscal federalism in our polity will receive serious attention at the centre,” the statement read in part.
“The people of Oyo state see the unanimous decision of your colleagues to appoint you as the vice chairman of Governors Forum as a mark of respect for you and we have no doubt that you will perform creditably well.” he added.
Mr Ladoja however prayed that God will continue enriching the Oyo state governor with abundant wisdom in his new position in the NGF to contribute positively to national development throughout his stint as the vice chairman of the Governors Forum
In another development, Mr Ladoja equally commended fiscal prudence of Governor Makinde over the completion and opening of Oyo House in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The building located at the Asokoro area of the nation’s capital city had become inhabitable and abandoned by previous administrations, until Governor Makinde came on board and saw the need for total rehabilitation.
The completion of the building, according to Mr Ladoja will save a lot of cost as the state government’s officials will now have place to lodge instead of staying in hotel during official engagement in Abuja.
The political head of Irepodun expressed his happiness over this feat and many others the Governor Makinde has achieved even during his yet to complete first term in office.
