President Bola Tinubu has approved the suspension of Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the Managing Director/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and three Executive Directors of the agency over alleged fraudulent activities.
The three executive directors involved are Messrs Olaniyi Alaba Netufo (Corporate Services); Barka Sajou (Technical Services); and Sa’adatu Balgore (Rural Electrification Fund).
The suspension takes immediate effect.

In the meantime, the president has directed thorough investigation into the actions of the suspended government top over the allegation of involving in fraudulent spending totaling more than N1.2 billion in the last two years.
