Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, came alive on Tuesday as the city hosted a vibrant celebration of Isese Day, a festival deeply rooted in Yoruba culture and tradition.
The event, which drew traditionalists from various parts of Nigeria and abroad, was among others personalities, graced by King Ogunlano, His Imperial Majesty of the Oduduwa Kingdom in America.
Speaking with the journalists, on the significance of the day, King Ogunlano explained that Isese Day is more than just a celebration.
According to him, the event is a profound service to the existence and continuity of one’s origins.
He emphasized that the festival is dedicated to promoting the ancient values, virtues, and unique strengths of the Yoruba progenitors.

King Ogunlano underscored the importance of marking Isese Day annually, highlighting that such gatherings are crucial for educating the younger generation about their cultural heritage.

The king also expressed his deep appreciation for Governor Seyi Makinde’s support in recognizing Isese Day with a public holiday.
He commended the governor’s commitment to preserving Yoruba culture and prayed for his continued good health, divine wisdom, and long life.
