The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collation of results from the Edo State governorship election, held on Saturday, will commence at 10 a.m. today.
This was confirmed in a statement released early Sunday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Edo State, Dr. Anugbum Omuoha.
The REC reassured the public that the collation process would be conducted with complete transparency, adhering to the commission’s established regulations.
“This is to inform the general public, stakeholders, and observers that the collation of results for the ongoing Edo State governorship election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10 a.m.,” the statement read.
Dr. Omuoha emphasized INEC’s commitment to ensuring that the collation process follows all laid down procedures, adding that the commission appreciates the patience and cooperation of all involved parties.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the parties as we strive to ensure a credible and accurate outcome of this important election,” Omuoha added.
The REC also urged all stakeholders to remain calm and maintain order as INEC continues to work towards delivering a free, fair, and transparent election in Edo State.
