The Council of Departmental Presidents (CDP) of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, ably represented by H.E. Comr. Nnorom Donald C. (Chairman), H.E. Comr. Fortune Prosper O. (Secretary), and H.E. Comr. Enechukwu Nmesoma (Provost), has proudly presented an Award of Recognition to the Rector, honouring her as an ICON OF EXCELLENCE.
The award celebrates her exceptional leadership and remarkable contributions since assuming office. While the recognition was first announced during the HANDS ON HOPE Feeding Outreach, held on 16th July 2025 at the institution’s 1,000-Capacity Hall, the official handover took place during a courtesy visit to the Rector’s office on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
During the visit, delegation leader Comr. Nnorom Donald C. highlighted that the Council of Departmental Presidents is the apex student leadership body, comprising the Presidents of all 43 academic departments in the institution.
He affirmed the CDP’s commitment to advancing student welfare, advocacy, and constructive engagement within the academic ecosystem.
In a heartfelt response, the Rector stated: “I am sincerely humbled by this recognition. It means a lot coming from the student leadership of this great institution. It shows that our collective efforts are not in vain, and that together, we are building a legacy of impact, excellence, and compassion. I commend the Council for its proactive engagement and commendable outreach efforts like the ‘Hands on Hope’ initiative. This award will further inspire me to lead with renewed dedication and a greater sense of purpose.”
The visit reaffirmed the vital role of student-management synergy in shaping an inclusive, responsive, and development-driven campus culture.
