Hon. Rahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, the re-elected chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, has expressed gratitude for his recent victory and outlined his plans for the upcoming term.
Mr Adepoju in a recent interview with WesternLifeNewsNG, thanked the residents, party leaders, and Governor Seyi Makinde for their support during the election, emphasising his commitment to building on the progress made during his first term.
Addressing education, he pledged to enhance primary school facilities by adding more classrooms, chairs, and exercise books. Additionally, he promised to prioritize the completion of health centers and the improvement of local roads to ensure better access to healthcare and transportation.
Reflecting on his past achievements, Mr Adepoju highlighted the reconstruction of Chief Agbaje Memorial Primary School and initiatives such as providing study materials and organizing educational competitions.
He expressed his intention to further empower the youth through programs aimed at alleviating poverty.
When asked about cooperation with legislators, the chairman affirmed unity within the government, citing a history of collaboration and progress without conflicts.
Regarding the political landscape in Oyo state, he confidently stated the dominance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, emphasizing loyalty to the party leadership.
In his message to the residents of the local government, Adepoju urged cooperation with the administration, emphasizing the importance of paying taxes, maintaining cleanliness, and promoting peace to enhance local development.
