As Kogi State prepares for its local government council elections, the political landscape is becoming increasingly vibrant with speculation over who will emerge as the next local government chairman.
In Dekina, celebrations erupted as thousands of followers, well-wishers, and voters expressed their excitement at Hon Maliki’s declaration of his candidacy.
Running under the banner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Maliki is a young, focused democrat.
He has vowed to rescue his constituents from the current administration’s poor governance and marginalization.
Maliki emphasized that Dekina, the largest local government area in Kogi State, has seen little meaningful development.
“If given the mandate, we will do everything humanly possible to reverse the setbacks and propel our local government forward,” he said.
He also highlighted his commitment to inclusive governance, promising to empower women and youth through job creation and skill acquisition programs.
